Seattle Post 1 has IRS 501(c)(19) tax exemption status and is resistered with the Washington Secretary of State as a Fraternal Society, having non-profit status.  The American Legion was chartered by the U.S. Congress as a Patriotic Organization.  Our Post has been in existance since the founding of The American Legion over a century ago.  

We sponsor participants in Children and Youth Programs, including Boys State, Girls State and Oratorical programs.  We are regularly made aware of Veeterans and Veteran familiesin our community needing assistance and help as we can.  We contribute to the local food banks.  Any donations upi can make to help us with our work is appreciated.
